How Do You Unlock Ranger?

Ranger unlocks at Survival Level 175. This requirement is confirmed for Version 1.0.

Survival Level 175 is a long grind, so plan for it:

• Play long, stable runs. Survival Level progression rewards runs that stay alive, which favors durable, sustain-heavy squads over glass-cannon builds. The survival team template — Tank-style frontline anchor plus Medic-style sustain — is the community’s standard grinding squad.
• Do not force unfamiliar Survivors. You level fastest with the Survivor you pilot best; check the tier list for the most forgiving leads.
• Knock out missions along the way. Version 1.0 includes 79 missions — 15 Main Story, 45 Survivor and 19 Repeatable — so the grind doubles as mission progress. See the missions database.

What Is the Best Ranger Build?

The build framework we are testing Ranger against:

• Stat focus. The community strongly associates Ranger with Luck — “Ranger and Luck” is one of the most-searched Ranger topics. Whether Ranger’s kit scales with Luck, and how much Luck is worth taking, is exactly what we are verifying before recommending a stat priority.
• Squad role. Whether Ranger plays best as a lead or as a recruit determines the build: a lead Ranger needs a self-sufficient early game, while a recruit Ranger can be specialized entirely around synergies.
• Synergy targets. We are mapping which cross-Survivor synergies Ranger’s abilities can activate; the best Ranger build will be built backwards from the strongest confirmed one.

What Are Ranger’s Synergies?

Cross-Survivor synergies combine one Survivor’s weapons and abilities with another’s into new effects. Ranger’s confirmed synergy list — which partners, which required abilities and which effects — is being compiled in the synergy database as testing progresses. Until entries are confirmed there, treat any Ranger synergy claims elsewhere as unverified.

What Is the Deal With Ranger and Luck?

Luck is the stat players most want explained in Version 1.0, and Ranger is the Survivor most often mentioned next to it. The honest state of knowledge:

• It is confirmed that Luck exists as a stat and that players associate Ranger’s kit with it.
• It is not yet confirmed how — or whether — Ranger scales with Luck, whether Luck affects critical hits, or how much Luck a Ranger build should take.

The community’s working theory is to slot Ranger into a squad that already functions without Ranger — a durable frontline anchor and a sustain or damage recruit that cover the early game — so Ranger is free to specialize.
