How many missions are in Version 1.0?

Yet Another Zombie Survivors Version 1.0 has 79 missions in total, split into three groups:

GroupCountPurpose
Main Story missions15The narrative campaign added in 1.0
Survivor missions45Personal quests for the nine Survivors
Repeatable missions19Replayable objectives for steady progression

On top of the mission structure, 1.0 also adds 28 Torments — endgame modifiers rather than missions, covered below.

Missions are the backbone of 1.0 progression. Before the full release the game was a pure bullet heaven loop; the mission system is what turns individual runs into a campaign, and it is also where most of the 88 achievements added in 1.0 come from.

What are the Main Story missions?

The 15 Main Story missions are the narrative spine of Version 1.0. They were added with the full release alongside the new Survivors’ Camp hub, and they are the reason the achievement list jumped by 88 entries — 64 of those are story achievements.

Practical notes:

  • Treat the Main Story as your primary progression track. New systems, unlocks and context for the personal quests all hang off it.
  • Story missions are one-way content: once cleared, their achievements and unlocks are yours permanently.
  • If you are new, do not rush. The story missions double as an extended tutorial for squad building and synergies — our beginner guide pairs well with the opening missions.

What are the Survivor missions?

The 45 Survivor missions are personal quests built around the game’s nine Survivors: SWAT, Tank, Medic, Pyro, Ghost, Huntress, Engineer, Mechanic and Ranger. They sit alongside the new Friendship system as the character-progression layer of 1.0.

Why they matter:

  • They are the fastest way to learn each Survivor’s weapons, abilities and role in a squad — which directly improves your team compositions.
  • They feed into the same progression pool as the story, including achievements and Friendship progression.
  • They give you a structured reason to play Survivors you would otherwise ignore, including Ranger, the ninth Survivor added in 1.0 and unlocked at Survival Level 175.

What are the Repeatable missions?

The 19 Repeatable missions are exactly what the name says: objectives you can clear again and again. Where the Main Story and Survivor quests are one-time content, Repeatables are the grind layer — the thing you do between story beats to keep rewards, levels and unlocks flowing.

Use them to:

  • Push Survival Level toward unlocks you have not reached yet (Ranger at 175 being the big one).
  • Test new builds and synergies in a structured run instead of a throwaway one.
  • Keep progressing while you decide which story or Survivor mission to tackle next.

What are the Torments?

The 28 Torments are endgame modifiers added in Version 1.0. They are not missions in the progression sense — think of them as dials that make cleared content harder and more rewarding, aimed at players who have finished the story and want a reason to keep optimizing their squads.

Torments pair naturally with Boss Rush, the other endgame addition in 1.0. Together they form the post-story loop: bring a proven team from the tier list or best builds, stack Torments, and see how far your synergy setup really goes.

How do missions tie into achievements and unlocks?

The short version: almost everything in 1.0 progression runs through the mission structure.

  • Achievements: 64 of the 88 achievements added in 1.0 are story achievements, and Survivor quests contribute their own share. See the achievement hub for the efficient unlock order.
  • Unlocks: Story and Survivor missions drive the meta-progression that opens up new content across runs.
  • Friendship: The new Friendship system sits next to the personal quests as the social layer of the Survivors’ Camp.
  • Endgame: Finishing the story is the on-ramp to Boss Rush and the Torments.
