Version 1.0 of Yet Another Zombie Survivors has a roster of 9 Survivors: SWAT, Tank, Medic, Pyro, Ghost, Huntress, Engineer, Mechanic and Ranger. You start each run with one of them and recruit up to two more, so this page is the hub for the whole roster — who each Survivor is, how to unlock them, and where to find their builds, teams and synergies.

What Is Confirmed About the Roster?

• There are exactly 9 Survivors in Version 1.0.
• Ranger is the ninth Survivor and is new in Version 1.0, released August 20, 2026.

How Do You Choose Which Survivors to Play?

Because every run becomes a three-Survivor squad, individual strength only matters in context:

1. Pick a lead you can survive the early game with. Our tier list ranks Survivors separately as leaders and as recruits for exactly this reason.
2. Recruit to cover weaknesses, then to complete synergies. The best team page walks through the recruitment logic for every game mode.
3. Check the synergy database before committing. Cross-Survivor synergies are where good squads become broken ones, and the database shows which Survivor pairs and abilities activate each confirmed effect.
